The Bearded One will arrive by helicopter at noon and visit with all the good boys and girls who drop by. Complimentary E-pho- tos will be provided. File photo File Volunteers pitch in to wrap gifts for local families in 2017. The KNOW Giving Baskets are expect- ed to assist about 250 local families in need this season. It’s all hands on deck for the Keizer Network of Wom- en (KNOW) Giving Basket program Dec. 5 and 6. The program is expected to impact about 250 children and their families this year. The KNOW members are sort- ing through the requests and fi guring out who gets what gifts. For a family with mul- tiple children, care is taken to make sure each child gets an equal number of gifts. In ad- dition to gifts, boxes of fresh food are also put together for the families. Sorting and boxing of food is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5. A big gift wrapping party takes place at 6 p.m.on Thursday, Dec. 6, with the goal being to have the process completed that evening. Participants in the wrapping party should bring along scissors, tape and gift wrap. Delivery will begin on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 9 a.m. Enchanted Child Care & Preschool Gymnasium, 530 Dietz Avenue (behind Arby’s), is serving as the headquarters Erma Lott July 30, 1917 – Nov. 17, 2018 Keizer Funeral Chapel handled arrangements. Keizer tree lights up Dec. 4 Two lucky children will be chosen to assist Santa Claus as he fl ips the switch that lights up Keizer’s Christmas tree on Tues- day, Dec. 4. The annual lighting cere- mony is at Walery Plaza, located where River Road and Cherry Avenue meet. The lighting is sponsored by Sunstone Design Stu- dios and Willamette Valley Ap- pliance and presented by the Keizer Chamber of Commerce. Live music by The Grand Jazz Band will fi ll the air.
