9-1-1 call interrupts attempted assault
A Salem man allegedly
broke into his ex-girlfriend’s
apartment with intent to as-
sault her new boyfriend, but
was foiled by a call to 9-1-1.
Shortly before midnight
on Tuesday, Aug. 14, a man
forced entry, through a win-
dow, into an apartment in the
1200 block of McGee Court
Northeast. He then jumped
on top of his intended vic-
tim while he was lying in bed.
Once the victims said they
were calling 9-1-1, the man
fl ed on a bicycle.
Keizer
police
offi cers
caught up to the suspect walk-
ing near the intersection of
River Road North and Hid-
den Creek Drive Northeast.
He was detained while of-
fi cers at the residence inter-
viewed the victims.
Tyler James Robertson, 35,
of Salem, was arrested and
transported to Marion Coun-
ty Correctional Facility and
has since been charged with
two counts of harassment, one
count of criminal mischief
and one count of burglary. In
Oregon, burglary is defi ned as
unlawful entry into a dwelling
with the intent to commit a
crime.

ground and pleasuring himself
near the trail next to the boat
ramp in Keizer Rapids Park

he was called out, the man got
to his feet, pulled up his pants
and ran east toward the boat
ramp parking lot.
Several offi cers responded
but were unable to locate the
suspect who had bleached
blond hair and was wearing a
black T-shirt and black shorts.
