Find out more at… Van stolen from Willamette Lutheran recovered A 1989 Econoline Van was stolen from Willamette Lu- theran Retirement Commu- nity, 7693 Wheatland Road North, along with other items in a burglary that occurred Tuesday, May 22. The van was recovered three days later parked on Mc- Nary Heights Drive North. About 10 a.m., a ground- skeeper reported the van sto- len along with an iPad, laptop computer, headphones, and other miscellaneous items. He reported that somone broke into his offi ce and taken the items. No suspects have been identifi ed. POLICE VEHICLE DAMAGED IN PURSUIT A Keizer Police Depart- ment patrol vehicle was dam- aged when a fl eeing suspect leapt out of his car and left it in reverse. About 10 p.m. on Monday, May 14, Sgt. Jeff Goodman at- tempted to stop a 1989 Cadil- lac for speeding and an unrea- sonably loud stereo on Brooks Avenue Northeast. Goodman activated his overhead lights and continued to follow the vehicle as it ac- celerated away after turning from Alder Drive Northeast. The suspect turned left on Shady Lane Northeast and slammed on the brakes leaving skid marks. The suspect then exited the vehicle, leaving it in reverse. Goodman noticed the vehicle moving backward but was unable to avoid a collision that caused more than $1,000 in damage. Other responding units helped establish a perimeter and a K-9 search was executed but the suspect was not located.
