PAGE A8, KEIZERTIMES, APRIL 14, 2017 police scanner Arrest made in CCMS bomb threat A bomb threat a student hoped would get her out of class early ended up getting her arrested. On Wednesday, April 5, School Resource Offi cer Jay Prall received information about a note stating a bomb would be going off at Claggett Creek Middle School some- time in the next 24 hours. Prall was able to identify the student and placed her under arrest for disorderly conduct. Lt. Andrew Copeland said the student did not have any explosives or means to manu- facture them. She told offi cers that the note was written in an attempt to get out of class early. M AN TRIES TO HIDE AFTER DUII STOP A 65-year-old man was ar- rested and charged with driv- ing under the infl uence of in- toxicants, attempting to elude an offi cer on foot and resisting arrest stemming from an inci- dent Thursday, April 6. After an anonymous tip about an intoxicated driver, a Keizer offi cer stopped a sus- pect driving on Garden Court Northeast. The driver pulled into a driveway and refused of- fi cer instructions to stop mov- ing after he exited the vehicle. The offi cer even tried grab- bing the man’s arm. The suspect continued to walk away and entered the home before eventually re- turning under his own ini- tiative. After a brief struggle, Douglas V. Johnson was taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Cor- rectional Facility. No one was injured.
