FEBRUARY 3, 2017, KEIZERTIMES, PAGE A7 police scanner Woman arrested after kicking dog, resisting offi cers A Keizer woman was ar- rested after allegedly kicking a dog and resisting arrest af- ter a Keizer police offi cer at- tempted to fi nd another adult to care for her. On Monday, Jan. 23, around 3 p.m., multiple callers notifi ed po- lice that there was a woman in Ben Miller Park in south- east Keizer who had been spotted kick- T. Carrick ing a dog and was possibly intoxicated. The woman was also bleeding from the head. Upon arrival, the offi cer suspected the woman was highly intoxicated and feared for her safety. The woman accepted a ride to an apart- ment complex on Clearview Avenue Northeast where the offi cer hoped to fi nd another adult to care for her. The offi cer said the wom- an’s behavior continued to deteriorate as he tried to de- escalate the situation. Eventu- ally, he placed her under ar- rest for second degree animal abuse. The woman continued to resist the arresting offi cer and his back-up offi cer, allegedly spitting, kicking as they tried to place her in back of a patrol vehicle. Once she was inside the car, the woman continued kicking and banging her head against the partition. Tammy Lynn Carrick, 43, was taken to the Marion County Correctional Facility and charged with assaulting an offi cer, resisting arrest and animal abuse. MAN ARRESTED FOR MISCHIEF, MENACING Throwing rocks at a Keizer Police Department vehicle landed a Salem man in hand- cuffs Saturday, Jan. 28. About 4 a.m., Sgt. Jeff Goodman was patrolling the area of Wheatland Road North and McNary Heights Drive north looking for a wanted person when he ob- served a male swaying as he walked along the road. The man appeared young- er than the subject Goodman was seeking, but suspected he was intoxicated and underage. Goodman was following the man from his car, about 30 feet behind him, when suspect bent down and scooped up a handful of rocks. He spun around and began throwing the rocks at Goodman’s patrol car. Goodman exited his ve- hicle after hearing a rock strike his car and confronted the man who still appeared to have more rocks in his hand. Goodman ordered the man to drop the rocks, but he did not comply, KPD offi cials said. The man drew his arm back in a throwing motion and Goodman fi red his Taser striking the suspect. Tyler Austin Longacre, 20, of Salem, was arrested and charged with attempted crim- inal mischief and menacing. He was also issued a citation for being a minor in posses- sion of alcohol.
