On Friday, Jan. 20, at 5 p.m., Professor Emeritus of Art History and senior faculty curator Roger Hull will give a lecture titled The Rose City and the Big Apple: Louis Bunce and the Art of Modern Times. The Willamette Univer- sity, Paulus Lecture Hall, 245 Winter Street S.E., Room 201. The lecture is free and open to the public. The two lecturers will ex- plore the art of Oregon artist Louis Bunce in light of the dualism of the Northeast and the Northwest that underlies his originality as an American modern artist. The lecture is offered in conjunction with the opening of the Hallie Ford Museum of Art’s major retrospective exhibition Louis Bunce: Dialogue with Modern- ism taking place in the Mel- vin Henderson-Rubio gal- lery between Jan. 20 and Mar. 26. The Hallie Ford Museum of Art’s members reception will follow after the lecture between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Admission is complimentary for museum members and invited guests, and a suggest- ed donation of $5 for non- members.
