KT on vacation
Submitted photo
Larry Jackson and Tina McLaughlin took their Keizertimes to
Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, where they reeled in a 35-pound, 40-
inch dorado. You too can have your photo in the Keizertimes.
Simply take the paper to your destination, snap a picture with
you and your group holding it, and send the photo along with
everyone’s fi rst and last names to kt@keizertimes.com.
The City of Keizer is solic-
iting applicants for volunteers
to be considered to serve on
the following committees.
• The Keizer Points of In-
terest Committee identifi es,
authenticates, and memorial-
izes sites of interest located in
the Keizer area. The commit-
tee meets on the third Thurs-
day of each month at 5:30 p.m.
• The Parks Advisory Board
will review and study issues
that involve development and
maintenance of city parks and
make recommendations to the
city council. The board meets
on the second Tuesday of each
month at 6 p.m.
• The Public Art Commis-
sion will review, evaluate, se-
lect, maintain, and document
all artwork, public art, and pub-
lic murals within the city. The
commission may advise the
city council and city manager
on the management, execu-
tion, installation, or placement
of artwork, public art and pub-
lic murals and will recommend
guidelines for adoption by the
city council for the selection
and placement of the artwork.
The commission meets on the
fourth Tuesday of every month
at 6 p.m.
• The Traffi c Safety/Bike-
ways/Pedestrian Committee
reviews traffi c safety issues in
Keizer and make recommen-
dations to the City Council
for improvements. Members
also recommend future loca-
tions of bike lanes in the city
and work to promote bicycle
safety and use throughout the
community. In addition to the
monthly committee meet-
ing, there may be other events
which require extra volunteer
hours. The committee meets
on the second Thursday of
each month at 6 p.m. at City
Hall.
• Youth councilor/youth
liaison is for youth to have
opportunities to serve on the
City Council and various city
committees.
Check the city website,
www.keizer.org, for more in-
formation and to apply.
