Donors can give blood between 12:30 and 5:30 p.m.; the drive will take place in the Parish Hall, 5303 River Road N. To schedule an appointment call Gaye McDougall at 503- 390-1876. Kenley Harper MacRae was born May 11, 2016, at Sil- verton Hospital. The baby girl weighed 7 pounds 10 ounces. The parents are Kevin and Mallory MacRae of Keizer. Sibling is Emerson, 2. Grandparents are Jeff and Susan Jackson of Baker City and Kenneth and Pam MacRae of Reedsport. KHF awards scholarships NO LICENSE The Keizer Heritage Foundation recently announced the win- ners of their 2016 scholarships. Blake Gerstner (McNary High School) was chosen for the $1,000 Pearl Langeland Scholarship. Miranda Glennie (Blanchet Catholic School) was awarded a $1,000 Keizer Heritage Founda- tion scholarship. Gerstner was very involved in school activities as well as in the community. He served as McNary’s student body vice president, was involved in planning school spirit events, various student lead- ership activities, German Club (and was an exchange student in Stuttgart, Germany), Science Club, Honor Society and participated in wrestling and lacrosse all four years. His involvement with Boy Scouts of America led him to become an Eagle Scout, his project was to refurbish the bridge at Bob Newton Park. Gerstner plans to attend Chemeketa Community College with a goal of being a Certifi ed Public Accountant with an emphasis in management. The $1,000 Foundation scholarship winner, Glennie, was heav- ily involved in business activities at Blanchet and was president of the school’s DECA chapter, a business club. She received a Na- tional DECA Leadership Honor and placed in competition at state marketing and fi nance DECA events. She was captain of the var- sity track and soccer teams. Glennie started her own charity called “one More Chemo Down,” in which she makes bags with ac- tivities inside for chemotherapy patients while they undergo their treatments.
