The school is in the process of taking AVID learning strat- egies schoolwide. AVID strategies focus on writing-to-learn, specifi c note-taking guidelines and the goal of preparing for students for life after high school. In addition to aesthetic changes celebrated at an assembly Tuesday, Jan. 5, students spent time asking some current McNary High School AVID students questions and presenting a sponsor award to Servicemaster of Salem for a large fi nancial contribu- tion last month.
