Cavell said he has high hopes for the game with the Rams. “It’s a chance for us to have a coming out party and show that we are going to be one of the top fi ve teams in the state,” he said. “I think it’s an opportunity to improve our power ranking, but just to have a win against Central Catholic would be big for us. While the Bulldogs held a brief lead at the beginning of the game, two buckets by Doutt tied the score 4-4 and Strand put the team ahead with a two-pointer. From that point on it was all McNary en route to the win. Hingston led the team with a whopping 25 points, includ- ing hitting fi ve of eight three- pointers. Her closest compe- itiors were Strand and Flores with nine points each. “It was a game where we ran through our plays a lot bet- ter and played much better on defense,” Flores said. The tough defense fed into better offense for the Celtics, Hingston added. “(The game) also showed we still had things to work on, like offensive rebounding and box- ing out,” Hingston said.
