With a bit of travel, dogs can take part or kids can dive in at the Woodburn Aquatic Center for Easter treats. Here are a few of the events around town and the region this weekend: • Keizer Christian Church is hosting an Easter egg hunt Saturday, April 4, at 10 a.m. Service will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, April 5. 6945 Wheat- land Road N. • Salem Mennonite Church services will be held Sunday, April 5 at 10:45 a.m. • Dayspring Fellowship will offer Easter services Saturday, April 4, at 6 p.m.; and Sunday, April 5, at 9 and 10:45 a.m. • Beginning at 8 a.m., Keiz- er’s Albertsons will host an Easter egg hunt for kids ages 0 to 12. 5450 River Road N. • Countryside Christian Church will offer services at 9 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday, April 5. 5775 McLeod Lane N.E. • Keizer Community Church will offer service at 11 a.m. Sunday, April 5. 380 Churchdale Avenue N. • St. Edward Catholic Church will offer an Eas- ter vigil mass Saturday, April, at 8:30 p.m. English services Sunday, April 4, will be held at 8:15 and and 10:30 a.m. A Spanish-language service will be held at 12:30 p.m. 5303 River Road N. • Keizer Church of Christ will hold English-language service at 10:30 a.m,. and a Spanish-language service at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 5. 5405 Ridge Drive N.E. • Salem Evangelical will host Living Waters, a musical and dramatic portrayal of the story of Jesus through the eyes of the Apostles at 7 p.m. April 3 and April 4 at 2 p.m. Sun- rise service will be held at 6:30 a.m. Sunday, April 5, additional services will be held at 9:15 and 11 a.m. 455 Locust Street N.E. • Silver Creek Fellowship will host an Easter egg hunt Saturday, April 4, for children ages 3 through sixth grade. A Sunday breakfast will be held April 5 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Service follows at 10 a.m. • Easter services at Clear Lake United Methodist Church will be held April 5 at 9:30 and 11 a.m. 7920 Wheat- land Road N. • Easterpalooza at First Presbyterian Church, 770 Chemeketa Street, N.E., in Salem. Egg hunts (times for specifi c age groups available at www.salemfpc.org), pan- cake feeds, bounce houses and carnival games are all planned at this free event beginning at 10 a.m.. A classic service is planned for 9 a.m. Sunday, April 5. A contemporary ser- vice will begin at 11 a.m. • Egg hunt at Belcrest Me- morial Park, 1295 Browning Avenue, in Salem. For chil- dren 10 and under. The Easter Bunny and Volcanoes’ mas- cot Crater will be in at- tendance. • Church on the Hill Keizer will offer services April 4 at 6 p.m.; and Sunday at 9 and 11 a.m. 2105 Keizer Road N.E. • Easter at Lancast- er mall. Families with children ages 2 to 10 are invited to celebrate Easter at the mall with games, prizes, entertain- ment on the main stage and a special Easter candy hunt in balloons. Hosted by Connec- tion Life Church. Hop on over and visit the Easter Bunny in his springtime garden near Sears. Visits with the Easter Bunny are always free and pro- fessional photo packages begin at $12.99. Each child who vis- its will receive a souvenir. No personal cameras. • Woodburn Aquatic Cen- ter Underwater Easter Egg Hunt, noon Saturday, April 4. Eggs fl oat and some will sink. Children will be grouped to- gether by age and have their own special time to hunt. Please bring a waterproof bas- ket or egg holder to store eggs. Admission $6 per youth par- ticipant. 190 Oak St., Wood- burn. • Easter Brunch at Silver Falls State Park Conference Center, 20024 Silver Falls Highway S.E. In Sublimity. Cost is $18.75 per person. 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. McNary High School’s Studio M, which pro- vides recording arts instruction for a number of students at the school, has launched a new podcast series. The Studio M Podcast features interviews with teachers and com- munity partners talking about their passions and experiences. The fi rst two episodes are al- ready online and feature inter- views with teacher Tracy Rhoades, a McNary teacher who runs the Celtic AWARE Club, and Eric A. Howald, associate editor of the Keizertimes and advisor to the school’s Write Club. The AWARE Club focuses on education about human traffi cking. Write Club provides a space for student creative writing and pub- lishes an anthology of student work at the end of each academic year. New releases pack shelves at Keizer community library Keizer Community Li- brary has approximately 160 books in its new book col- lection featuring recently published books by popular authors. Sought: Pics MHS club hosts forum on of old mural human traffi cking April 7 The Keizer Public Arts Commission is seeking infor- mation about a mural that was painted on Albertsons in the late 1980s or early 1990s. At that time Albertsons was located at River and Chemawa Roads. The commission is seeking information and photos of the mural for historical and rec- reation purposes. If you have information about the mural email publisher@keizertimes. com. The McNary High School AWARE Club is hosting an event called In Plain Sight, Tuesday, April 7. Local experts will weigh in on the problem of human traf- fi cking and how individuals can get involved to help pre- vent it and assist in recovery for victims. Speakers include representatives from Center for Hope and Safety, Portland Police Bureau, Marion Coun- ty Crime Victims Advocacy, Compassion First and Survi- vor. The AWARE Club focuses on raising awareness concern- ing issues of human traffi cking. Financial donations and discarded cell phones will be accepted for the Center of Hope and Safety. Interpreters will be present for the event. The event is rated PG-13, but students in grades eight through 12 are invited along with their parents. Clean out that sewing room: Donate unused fabric Three area non-profi ts are seeking donated fabric from the community to sell at Fab- ric Fair in May. Prevent a Litter (PAL), Co- alition Advocating for Animals (CAFA) and Alexia’s Cozy Covers will hold Fabric Fair in May to raise funds for their particular projects. PAL and CAFA raise money to provide low-cost dog spaying and neu- tering as well as dog training rewards for owners. Alexia’s Cozy Covers makes blankets and quilts for foster children, families and veterans. The organizers of Fabric Fair gather donated fabric then measure it, fold it and sell it at the event. Prices at the fair are about $2 per yard. This year’s fair will be held noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, at the Salem Scottish Rite Cen- ter, 4090 Commercial St. S.E. in Salem.
