A suspicious package was found late Monday after- noon at the Summer Breeze statue on River Road near Figaro’s. As a precaution, deputy chief Jeff Kuhns with the Keizer Police Department said River Road was closed from about 6:20 to 6:55 p.m. that evening, causing a bit of a traffi c issue. “We closed River Road to let the bomb squad use their robot to check things out,” Kuhns said. “There was nothing dangerous. We want to be safe for all concerned.” The item was a case draped around the neck of the statue.
