The walk will begin at 2 p.m. with registration in be- ginning at 1:45 p.m. There is no charge for participating. The routes will take par- ticipants through the nearby residential areas bordering the Willamette River as well as through two parks on the 5K route and fi ve parks on the 10K route. Dogs are welcomed provided they are leashed and can get along well with other dogs who may also be walking. Participants walk at their own, comfortable speed. The club’s website is www. willwander.weebly.com. MHS art exhibit opens Saturday Keizer Art Association will be hosting an exhibit of art by McNary High School stu- dents in February. Entries will be the artist’s choice of subject and medium with up to two per student. The show started this week and runs to Feb. 28. An artists’ reception will be held on Saturday, Feb. 7, from 2 to 4 p.m. Awards will be pre- sented at that time. The public is invited to come and discuss the works with the artists dur- ing the reception. TEDxSalem looking for speakers TEDxSalem, Salem’s in- dependently organized TED event, is seeking speaker appli- cants for its third annual event Saturday, Oct. 3. The TEDxSalem 2015 speaker application is available online at http://tedxsalem.us/ speaker-application. The ap- plication closes on Thursday, Feb. 19. TEDxSalem speaker com- mittee is looking for experts in varied fi elds who have new and dynamic ideas worth spreading. Some talk ideas the speaker selection committee are partic- ularly interested in are: micro- biomes, the Internet of Things vs. Internet privacy, 3-D print- ing, internet security, advances in prosthetics, ultra running/ ultra sports, high level math, big data, hybrid electric trains, passive houses, new advances in brain science or any other science, and animal psychology. Pre-order Keizer book The Keizer Heritage Mu- seum is taking early orders for Images of America: Keizer, a book chronicling Keizer’s his- tory through the early 1960s. The book will be published by Arcadia Publishing which has printed hundreds of simi- lar books for small towns and downtowns across the country. Dozens of photographs from the museum’s collection as well as photos submitted by the public paint a picture of the history of Keizer from the late 19th century to the early 1960s. Though the book will not be available until April Keizeri- tes can order copies early for $20. Only 90 pre-sold books will be available.
