Technical Agriculture Offers Thousands of Positions. Serve aa Stepping Stone» to Higher Promotion# and Better Com pensa tion. Washington.—Technical agrlcplfure offers thousands o f positions a« associ ates, assistants, helpers, extension workers and county agents, and this work Is particularly suitable for re trained, disabled men, according to a statement Issued by the federal board for vocational education. These positions s e n e as stepping atones to higher promotions and hotter compensation soon in the agricultural colleges, experiment stations, agricul tural extension service and iu state agricultural movements. These Insti tutions and employments lost thou sands o f men from their student bodies, their faculty and their stuffs. Hundreds o f men formerly agricultur al extension workers uud agricultural county agents will never return to those occupation». These places were temporarily tilled by uupre| a red sub stitutes who will be replaced by trained men as rapidly as possible. The experience abroad, wbereiu op portunity was given to study the In tensive and scientific agriculture of France and other countries, has great ly stimulated interest in these lines, SDd disabled men with a background o f agricultural exi*erience are mani festing keen interest in training for the lines mentioned. Many others who, by reason o f their disabilities, are compelled to equip themselves in other lines, and preferably for out-of- door occupations, are also manifesting a keen desire to take up the special ised branches o f agriculture in the training offered by the federal board. Counting By Millions On the 15th day of December at 1:55 P M. in the year 1915. the Ford Motor Company cast the one millionth Ford Model T Motor, the famous power plant o f the famous Ford car. It marked a great achievement when 1,000, 000 motors had been cast conse cutively, without a hair’s breadth o f change from the original de sign. On April 8th, at 1:30 P.M. in the year of 1919. the Ford Motor Company cast the three millionth Model T Motor, and it was identi cally the same in every detail, without a c h a n g e o f a hair’s breadth in any particular, as the first Ford Model T Motors that was cast. Three million of one piece of mechanism cast, one after the other, without a change, is certainly about as strong evi dence o f perfection as it would be possible to conceive. Already now more than 3.000,000 Ford cars in daily service, and more than 3,000.000 alone carrying this famous Model T power plant. A further pressing fact is that there has not been a day in the past three years when the Ford Motor Company has not been more than 100,000 cars behind orders for immediate delivery, and the out put at the present time is in excess of 3,000 cars per day.-Adv.
