As yet the Commercial Depart ment has rece ived no answer to the challenge in spelling. Some of the high school pupils have begun to play tennis. Most of the small children who w ere absent from school on ac count of chicken pox have re turned. The announcement of the Civil Service Examinations to be held April 20 has been received. Sev eral of the commercial students are planning on taking it. The class in Food Preparation is now making a study of batters doughs and pastries. The only recipes used are those authorized by the U. S. Food Administra tion. Morrison was at Jordan Monday explaining war saving stamps and appointing solicitors. Miss Marie Dougherty called on Mrs II. Phillips last Tuesday.
