Prieea 30 em ts to $2.50 All-wool Suits to order Republican Candidate For Representative From Marion County To the Voters of Marion County: Before the Primaries, I promised the voters and people o f Marion County that if I was nominated and elected I would advocate all reasonable progressive policies: measures com p il ing economy and efficiency in every' department of State and and County Government; such good roads legislation as will be o f especial benefit to rural districts, but preferably without is suing bonds; conservative appropriations for state institutions: that I favored Statemente-No. 1. and the election of U. S. Sen ators by the people; that I was strictly opposed to all schemes for additional taxation, of whatever nature or kind, including the single tax. I am opposed to single tax for the reason that it will throw the major part of the burden of taxation upon those least able to pay. The Farmer, the small land owner and the laboring man who has had the thrift and industry to own his own home are the ones who would have to bear the brunt of the burden of taxation, while the richer class whose wealth is represented largely by stocks, bonds and other secur ities would be practically exempt from taxation. And now, as the election is approaching, I wish to state to the voters and people of Marion County that if I am elected I will do all in my power to carry out these policies, strictly and literally, to gether with such other legislation as I shall deem to be for the best interests of the people of Marion County and of the people of the State of Oregon.
