A reception was tendered Laura Wimer on Friday evening by the Entre Nous Society, of which she was au active worker. The hours glided swiftly by, as the young folks indulged in games and social converse. The Society banqueted at 11. This was presided over by Roxey Stayton, Everett Gardner, Mabel Gardner, Guy Sloper, Lix/ie Cornelius and Roy Cole During the evening the following program was rendered: Cornet Solo........ The very best wishes of School and Society go with her to luy future home. Laura will la* greatly missed as she was a wide-awake worker in the School and in the Society. The School has a splendid Library Case which will hold many volumes. It was a needed piece of furniture and cost them $25, with a special price to secure it at those figures. The old fashioned way of taking a grist to milll w as to put a sack of eorn or wheat on a horse and lead him to mill. The joke eumo off in Virginia, and was told to me hy my father. An Irishman wished to go to mill one morning and he put a sack of eorn on his pony and led it out ut the gate. The sack of corn was very heavy for tlie pony.
