who are living near Bristol, Me.

Leaving his family in tho East, the
deceased left Maim for San Francisco, jS
Cal , by way ol Cape Horn, about tho

worked at his trade as' brick-mason,
for a couple of years, then going to ^
Vanc»»uver Island, B. C., where he ^
worked in a logging camp a while, lie
then came to Salem, Ore., in the year

1803, where he formed a partnership ^
w ith \V. F. Boothby and Harry Staple-
ton in a Sash and Door Factory, on >
Front St., finally retiring, although
working at his trade while a partner.
Deceased worked in Salem on most ^

early days, to-wit: Willamette Uniter- ^

A brother of E. T. Matthieu visited
at his home this week, and took in the
