In order to assure the safety of all guests and
Central Oregon communities, the Fair will be
following all state and local health mandates
regarding COVID-19. These adjustments include
reduced exhibits in some departments. This year
we will not be accepting any table decorating
exhibits. The Fair appreciates your understanding
of this decision based on state and local health
mandates.

Best of Show: Wine, Beer, Cheese
Superintendent’s Choice
Theme Award: Fair theme will be the subject of
this award. All classes within the Dept. will be
eligible. Entries will be judged on originality, ability
level and approximation to the theme. Indicate on
the exhibitor tag that the entry is in the Class by
inserting the word ‘theme’ on the tag in the upper
right-hand corner. ‘Theme’ is not a Class by itself.
All ages will be judged together for the ‘theme
award.”
A $10 award will be given to each of the above
winners. It will be included in the premium Checks.
WINE, BEER, AND CHEESE
GENERAL RULES AND
REGULATIONS
Pre-registration is strongly encouraged as
Covid-19 state and local health mandates
on building capacity may limit the number
of last minute walk in entries.
Please refer to DCF General Rules & Regulations in
front of Exhibitor Premium Book.
Wine:
" Wine must be in standard wine bottle.
" Exhibitor tag must show variety of fruit and
vintage (year made).
" Stopper may be cork or plastic with protecting
caps for easy removal and replacement.
" White wine will be refrigerated before judging
and red will be at room temperature.
" All labels must be covered until after
judging which then will be removed by fair
Superintendent.
" Special ingredients must be listed on the back
of exhibitor tag.
Beer:
" Bring two bottles for each class entered. One
for judging and one for display only. Both
bottles will be refrigerated and presented to
the judge who will make his choice. Tag each
bottle.
" All labels must be covered until after judging
which then will be removed by the fair
Superintendent.
" Special ingredients must be listed on the back
of exhibitor tag.
Cheese:
" Entry is to be in original form - no wedges or
part blocks
" Cheese must be in a sealable container or if in
a vacuum pack or sealed with wax, exhibitor
will also provide a zip lock bag for after
judging. Cheese not presented in this manner
will be refused entry.
" Indicate on tag if it is raw milk
" Exhibitor should place cheese in the

" Soft cheeses - minimum of 4 oz.
" Cheese will be refrigerated.

" All articles should be labeled on the reverse
side with exhibitor’s name and address. This
label is to be covered with masking tape until
completion of judging.
" All articles must be clean. No soiled or
unfinished garments or articles will be
accepted.
" Clothing and needlework must be pressed.
" Exhibitors must have constructed all items
entered in their name. All items (excluding
antique quilts) must have been completed
within the past two years and not previously
exhibited at the Deschutes County Fair.
" Pictures/wall hangings, etc. need to be ready
to hang.
" ‘Other’ category is only for items not already
categorized.
" An individual can enter only one age group e.g.
adult or senior.
