Six men got on the ear. and a hundred or m ore pulled It out of the w ater by a huge cable. Rescued persons who for two days expected death with every m inute, were lifted from the car to w aiting autom obiles and taken to shelter. First they were given several cups of hot coffee and w rapped In w arm gar ments. W omen and children collaps ed. and men were so weak w ith cold and fatigue they had to be carried.
