One of the first balls took effect In Lawson's right cheek. He fell backward and grabbed a chair for a shield. Then he ran from tho room and down the back stairs, and while fleeing received a shot In one shoulder, and another pierced his hat. At a meeting of base ball players held here last Friday afternoon It was decided to form a base ball club for Redmond for the 1912 season. E. E. Foote was chosen captain, with authority to select what player* h j desired to compose the team, and J. H. Mendenhall was chosen as mana ger for the season. As there are a number of good players in the city it is the intention to get up a strong team and. if pos sible. organize a league among the towns along the railroad and some of the towns off the railroad. A series of games will be played during the season here and at other towns, and the base ball fans of Red mond may be assured of seeing a number of good games.
