CONNELL IS OUTLINES READINGS Miss Wil Hutchinson of the Arleta branch library has out lined some interesting reading, which may be had from the library bookshelves, as follows: “Your National Parks,” by Enos A. Mills. This is the com plete and authoritative book on American national parks which tourists and nature lovers have long been waiting for. It comes with special appropriaterffess from Mr. Mills, who has de voted so large a share of his time and energy to the cause of extending, improving and popularizing these playgrounds of the people, and who knows as no other living man their beauties as well as their his tory. “The Assurance of Immor tality,” by Harry Emerson Fos- dick. This book will be wel comed by those who are asking the question and who need to be shown how much it means to the world to have a belief that this life is but a part of a vast forever.—B o s t o n Tran script. “Pieces of Eight,” by Richard Le Gallienne. Last evening the Eastern Star chapter entertained the Sellwood chapter, quite a num ber of the visiting order being present. The Mt Scott chapter put on the degree work and the Sellwood chapter the Floral de gree. Refreshments were serv ed and a social hour enjoyed. Joe Endizzi, 19 years of age. of 4916 Eighty-eighth street, was painfully hurt Monday af ternoon w'hen he fell through the elevator shaft at the Ore gon Chair company plant where lie is employed as a stainer. He was taken to St. Vincent’s hos pital. where it is reported he suffered a bruised back and hip.
