METHODIST LAWN FETE Children's Affair Held' By Local Church on Court House Lawn. Attracts Large Attendance The Summer Committee of the So cial Chela of the Methodist Church, helped by the younger girls of the chureli, gave a delightful lawn social Friday August 13th, The . special features of the evening consisted of K unes for the children who were ably assisted by Ella Beterly, leader for the older boys; Mrs. Kcster, lead er for the primary division, arid Ha zel Daly looking after the second di vision. Music lor the evening wis furnished by a Victrola, loaned to tho committee by the Vale Dnig Store. A choice program of mu;ic was rendered, nnd the older chidrtn, ns well as those who have yet to grow no, thoroughly enjoyed the evenin?. During the evening ice cream and rake were sei'vcd at the tables, in terspersed over the court house lawn, other delicacies were served, .inclui intc popcorn and punch. The gathering was largely attend ed and the committee are very w d! pleased with the results. The money laised applies to the Social Circle. SCHOOL OPENS SEPTEMBER 6 At n meeting of the Board of Di rectors of School District No. 15, emhraring the grades and High School of the city of Vale, it was decided to open the Fall Term on Monday, September 0th. We expect to have at that time a full corps of Teachers and are using every means within our power to make the Yale School equal to an) in Kastern Oregon. The building will he 40x100 feet. Miss Mattio Lee of the Holy Ro sary Hospital in Ontario, visited home folks a few days last week.
