"These growers are worried for fear the unfavorable weather fol lowing the handling of the unusu ally heavy crop with insufficient help may delay the spraying until too late," says Professor liarss, who has just made a study of orchard condition in southern Oregon. "Much good can be accomplished even though spraying cannot be fin ished before the early part of De cember, and no infected orchard should be allowed to go into the winter unprotected. The anthrac nose canker disease is getting a bad hold in many orchards and must be treated promptly and strenuously if serious damage is to be avoided." For the year ending June 30, 1919, $3,696,033,924 worth of agricultural products were exported from this country. To put it differently, 52 uer cent of all oar exports originated on the farm. Twenty-eight per cent of this total was meat and meat products, 23 per cent cotton, and 19 per cent wheat. The urgent need of Europe for fats has resulted in large shipments of pork and pork products about five times as much bacon being ex ported as before the awr. Cotton and wheat always large it,ems in our export trade show larger shipments than ever now that the lserve stock of the world is low. Oregon Grape Suspected.
