Oregon, Nov. 2S The City Council decided Monday night not to acceed to the .request of the Union Oil Company to construct their tanks on the site selected, ow ing to the fact that the location ii too close to the business district. The Ontario Milling Company has made application for a charter. The mill will have a capacity of 60 bar rels of flour daily, which will be in creased as conditions justify. The finished product will go under the brand of "Flabo". The Ontario building program for Ihe month of November has already fassed the $50,000 mark, and it is expected that several new contracts will be let before the end of the month. The Burns Commercial Club are agitating that the mail service be re organized, and asks the co-operation of Ontario to see whether or not the present train schedule can be changed. A concerted effort is bemg made to get the RailRoad office to equalize freight rates on hay shipped from Eastern Oregon points, as compared with Western Idaho, to Eastern States.' A publicity campaign has just been launched by the Ontario Commercial Club which will deliver Ontario's message to over 8,00,00 people. J. R. Blackaby spent Thursday and Friday in Portland with the High way Commission on the Sucker Creek road. P. J. Gallagher returned Sunday evening from Portland, where he was in attendance at court proceed ings in the case of the Warmsprnigs Irrigation Co., versus the Pacific Live-Stock Co. The first two days of this week the Ontario Commercial Club re ceived 37 inquiries relative to On tario and the surrounding country. Charley Cox has sold his half in terst in the Hunt and Cox Garage to V. J. Haffer of Weiser. Body returned last Friday night from the Conference of Com mercial Club Secretaries held at Salem the first of last week. The budget was passed' as submitted. At a pretty wedding solemnized at high noon last Thursday Miss Mary Hatfield of Boise became the bride of Henry Griffin of this city. The ceremony was performed at the home of the bride's parents in Boise. Only relatives and the most inti mate friends of the bride and groom ' were present. The bride wore a lov ? i'ly gown of pale pink crepe-de-chine iind carried a shower bouquet of 2 bride's roses and pink sweet-peas.
