Willis, owner of one o the finest fruit ranches in tho Brogan country, arrived in the city from Bro gan Tuesday. Born, to Mr. and Mrs. Arthur T, Glenn, at Vale, a 11-pound girl. Mrs. Jay Kimball took her dcart- ure from Vale Thursday, for Eaton, Colo., where her mother is seriously ill. Cliff Boyer was an Ontario visitor in Vale the first of the week. Alfred Vogue was a visitor in the city from McDermitt the latter part of last week. Wm. Connolly, te Westfall sheep man, was registered at the Drexel hotel Saturday from Pittsburg. G. W. Cox, of Riverside, was in town Monday. W. W. Lovelace, of Bridgeport,, was a Vale visitor Tuesday. Tom Warren was a Bridgeport visi tor in Vale Tuesday. Geo. Warren, who has been at Port land, Oregon, is visiting friends in tho city this week. S. S. Jaencger, of Crowley, arrived in the city Wednesday. F. N. Davey was a Weiser visitor in Vale during the week. Geo. W. Dewey, of the Wheaton theatre at Weiser, was in town Thurs day, trying to arrange for a special train to be run from Vale next week for their show "Fair and Warmer" on Wednesday, the 7th. J. A. Lawrence was an Ironside vis itor in the city Thursday. M. P. Grover, of Ontario, arrived in Vale Thursday, for a few days vis it. M. Stanton came down from Juntu ra Thursday, on business in the coun ty seat Jas. Nurse, who has a ranch in the Big Bend country, was transacting business in Vale this week. Simon Servatius was a Bonita visi tor ni Vale'Thursday. Mrs. L. J. Mustard, of Westfall, ar rived in the city Saturday of last week, for a few days visit. E. T. Bogart came down from Jam ieson the latter part of last week. J, E. Acton, of Ontario, was a Vale arrival Saturday. Martin Joyce, of Westfall, was a Sunday arrival in the county seat Will Sperry arrived in Vale from Jamieson the first of the week. Gus Mansfield was a visitor in the city from Ontario Sunday. Dave Magill was an Ontario arriv al in the city Monday. J. M. Addington, postmaster ai Brogan, was in the city for the hear ing before the public service commis sion Tuesday. C. H. Oxman, of Jamieson, was transacting business in Vale tho first, of the week. Frank Kendall was among the Jam ieson visitors in the city the first of the week. A. C. Johnson and L. F. Tschirgi, of Brogan, were down the first of the week to attend the hearing. P. J. Gallagher, the Ontario attor ney, was in the city the first of tho week, making the Enterprise office a visit while here. Sam Bolton, from the new town of Crane, -was in town the first of the week, attending the 0. S. L. rate case. J. D. Fairman, of the Jones & Co. Bank at Westfall, arrived in Vale Tuesday. E. A. Fraser was an Ontario arriv al in the city Tuesday of this week. H. M. Horton came up from Onta rio on a business trip the first of the week. A. B. Cox was a Jamieson arrival in Vale Tuesday. A. G. Kingman, from Kingman Col ony, was a Vale visitor Tuesday of this week. Wm. Jones, pioneer stockman and rancher of Juntura, was a Vale visi tor the first of the week. E. G. Moudy, of Cow Valley, who is tho Enterprise reporter for that lo cality, was a visitor in the city Tues day, attending the hearing at the court house. Lloyd T. Angel!, of Watson, was a visitor in the city Wednesday. C. D. Daley arrived in the county seat from Watson Wednesday. M. W. Smith was a Harper arrival in Valo the latter part of tho week. I J. M. Mcintosh and son, David, formerly residents of Vale, but who now reside in Boije, were in town on business with the Western Pacific Oil company this week. . Don Piatt, Wm. Walker and W. W. Wood were up from Ontario Thurs-' day. Mrs. B. Woodward came down from Harper during the week, on a brief visit with friends. Mrs. S. A. Newman, of Jordan Val ley was a guest with Mrs. Vcnable at the Alco this week. Tom Malloy, of Boise, was a busi ness visitor in Vale the latter part of tho week. Felton Duncan, of Nyssa, was in Vale Thursday attending tho Min strels and the dance while here. Henry O'Neill, of Boise, visited friends in Vale on Thursday of this week. L Don Prewett, of Stanfield, Oregon, was transacting ousiness in vaic on Thursday. M. M. Mcgardy,, of Alberta, Cana da, a prospective settler and home seeker, is in Vale this week. Mrs. Henry Wakerlig, of Westfall, was a visitor in Vale the past week. A lull in social news has marked tho past week, for the lenton season holds sway in the minds of the people for the next few weeks. With the exception of a quiet party or two and the .dance given for the benefit of the bands Thursday evening the days were socially quiet. Immediately after and in connec tion with the Minstrels given by the Ontario and Vale bands Thursday ev ening, a dance was held in the Isis hall. A large crowd responded to the invitation and a neat sum was added to the bands' purses. A feature of the evening was Beamguard's orches tra which provided excellent music, The "Ontario Special" train did not leave until about 1:30 so that the vis itors from our neighbor city enjoyed the good time with the Vale people, "FAIR AND WARMER" Big Comedy Coming to the Wheaton Theatre, Weiser,. Next Wednes day Evening, March 7. Sclwyn & Co. will present "Fair and Warmer", a comedy of comedies, next Wednesday, March 7th, at the Wheaton Theatre, Weiser, Idaho. A special train from Ontario has been arranged by Geo. W. Dewey, mana ger of the Theatre. The prices aro 50c, 76c, $1.00, $1.50. LIVERY BARN CHANGES Griffin and Clark Secure Possession o Davidson Livery Barn, and Will Conduct Both Businesses The Episcopal Guild Ladies met at the home of Mrs. Robert Lytic Thurs day evening for their regular business meeting and to arrange for some spec ial lenten season work. Twenty two ladies were present Light refresh ments were served. The Guild meets the first Thursday in every month. Mrs. John Norwood, of Jamieson, was a visitor in Vale Thursday and attended the Minstrels, in the evening. March 13 and 14 are dates set for the County Sunday School convention at Ontario. Vale is sending a large delegation to the convention and the Vale churches aro all working to gether to make this a banner conven tion. It has been definitely decided to send delegates possibly about four from each the Christian, Methodist and Episcopal churches of Vale. The Vale Boy Scouts will bo in attendance in full force. Principal among the speakers of tho two-day convention will bo Dr. Chas. A. Phipps of Portland, Superin tendent of the State Sunday School Association, who needs no word of praiso for he is a speaker known and loved all over Oregon. Rev. T. M. White', Rev. W. J. Luscombe of Valo will also appear on the program. Mrs. Bayliss, Mrs. Zutz and Mrs. Baldgc man all of Vale will speak on Cradle Roll Work, Home Department and tho Intermediate Department, respectively- Mrs. B. F. Farmer of Vale is presi dent of the county association, Earl Dean of Nyssa, vice-president, and Arthur Mooro of Ontario secretary treasurer. A call has been issued to the owners of automobiles for volun teers to help transport the Sunday Schools and delegates to the conven tion. If you have a car and can vol unteer your services it will be a work worthy the effort on your part. M. D.
