King's visit here, and Included a lec
ture on road work hy Mr. King at the
Methodist church, with testimony as
to the achievements of the King road
drag In the central and eastern states.
The lecture was followed hy a prac
tical demonstration of road building
and the efficiency of the King road
drag under the direction of Mr. King.

and as a remit Mr. Olcott has had day

more than a week and there still la a
large amount of work to be done.

Pendleton Man Draws Heavy Fine.
Pendleton. John Kstes, proprietor
of a local pool hall, who recently paid
a tint- of $250 for permitting gambling
in his place ot business, was fined $500
by Judge Phelps for exhibiting ob
scene pictures, tie had previously
pleaded not guilty to the charge.
