THE CHEM A W A m eeting was to fu rth er the cause of d is cipline in the in d u strial d ep artm en ts. After discussing th is subject, at length the following resolutions were adopted: T h at pupils en tering the various de p a rtm e n ts be required to rem ain in the d ep artm en t of his choice for a p robation ary period of at least th irty days. T hat the pupils in the d ep artm en ts can not enter ano th er d ep a rtm en t w ithout having worked at least sixty d a y so n the in d u strial detail. This being the first m eeting of the season it was a very profitable one to all. The following em ployes were present: M. W. Cooper, A. D. V anTassel, H. E. M ann, C. H. Woods, J. W. Swahoda, J. R O ' E N B E R ( i E R- M A I) ISON. 1'he sitting-room of McBride H all was th e scene of a pretty weddb g at seven o’clock on W ednesday evening, J a n u a ry 11, 1911, when Miss Allah Madison was united in m arrage to Mr. F ran k Rosen berg« r, Rev. E rrett, of Salem, perform ing the cerem ony. The bride looked very pretty in a gown of white, with veil, and bridal boquet of white carnations. Miss Rena Mann made a p retty brides m aid. while Mr. F. W. Mitchell acted as best man. The couple have been students at ( he- mawa for several y*ars, the bride h av ing graduated with last y ear’s class. F ran k is now very ahlv filling the position o f engim er a t the Tula lip School and after the cerem ony they left on the evening train for th a t place. The best wishes of all the school accom pany them to their new home A M EBIC AN B R E V IT IE S W illie Lee seems to be holding his job at the laundry. Lee E vans has been tran sferred from the blacksm ith to the p ain t shop. Archie Lane went out h u n tin g on S a t urday and he s h o ta snine 200 yards off. Some shooting there, Dock! Since the q u arte rly exam ination, the seniors are working very hard, as they were taken bv surprise and «lid not bring th eir averages up to the usual sta n d ard . Mr. Ben Durkee, of C atalla, Alaska, has been here d uring the week visiting his d au g h ter and also other A laskan children with whom he is acquainted. He and his acquantances m ade a trip to Salem on Tuesday at his expense and took in a theater. In a letter from W alter Regen, who is now a t his home in H oopa, he states th a t all of the ex-Chem awa stu d en ts in th at neighborhood are doing verv nicely. He says th at there are a couple of men assisting him plowing and p u ttin g in a grain crop on his place. On W ednesday evening our hovs p la y ed the W oodburn basketball team in W oodburn The final score was 42 to 35 in favor of W oodburn. It is reported th a t there was much fouling and had some at ention been paid to the sam p Chemawa m ight have won Mr Larsen went along in charge of the party. In a letter received from Thos An drews he states th at he is now in te rp re t ing sub chainm an for the surveyor on the western p art of Colville Reservation and getting along nicely, but he and his wife had the m isfortune to lose their baby the 29th of December.
