8 I'HE CHE MAW A .AMERICAN FACULTY VS. SEXIOtlS. On Wednesday afternoon the Seniors crossed bats with the schcol Faculty and defeated them by the close score of 6 to 5 in a five-inning game. Just before the game there was a comic parade led by Mr. Woods. The game waB exciting throughout, there being a few grand stand plays. The line-up and score was as follows: . Brevities Mr. and Mrs. Lane, of Siletz, Oregon, were here attending the exercises. William Morgan has been assisting the painters the past week. John Kelly and other Grande Hondo people were here this week. Julia Sortor, an ex-pupil, was here for our Commencement exercises! The engineer boys were cleaning up around their shop Wednesday afternoon. Reggie Downie was painting one side of -the paint shop Wednesday afternoon. Some of the teachers have been hav ing their school room floors oiled this week. Wednesday some boys were cutting small fir trees which were used in the operetta. Philip Sorahan, '07, was our visitor during the Commencement exercises this week. Delia Souvigner, an ex-Chemawa student, was attending our exercises this week. The Curis left for their home in Grande Ronde Thursday morning accompanied by their father. A number of boys were fixing the race track for the field meet on Commence ment Wednesday afternoon. George Welfeidt, of Portland, wit nessed our Commence .hent exercises, lie is an ex-Chj mawa htudent. Joe Charles and some of the garden boy? were hoeing the .-potatoes behind the bakery Wednesday afternoon. James Smith and AlphonsusvGuay were replacing broken window panes in Brewer Hall Wednesday afternoon. Captain McCully is to be congratulat ed upon his Company" winning the hand some silver cup which was put up by the faculty for the best drilled company on commencement.
