Philip Sorahan and William Ingram, of Salem, were our visitors on ' Sunday. Quite a' number of boys went to Salem last Saturday and witnessed a baseball game. , The band boys are faithfully practic ing from 10:30 to 11:45 a. m. and from 2:00 to 4:00 p. m. The Commissioner's practical talk on Sunday night to all the pupils was of great benefit to us. Sunday was a perfect day and we had in addition pleasant visitors and we were all as happy as could be. We are now looking forward to a field meet to occur within a few weeks between the Companies A and B. Mrs. Leupp and Miss Leupp were pleased with Chemawa's roses. They said they never had seen so many before. The dining hall was decorated with fir boughs, and the tables decorated with roses on Sunday, which looked very nice. Thursday of last week the Chemawa Battalion gave a dress parade, which was highly complimented by the spec tators. George Washoe has returned from Prosser, Washington, and pitched for the Black Cats' Baseball team last Saturday. Mr. Peter Collins, of Siletz, Oregon, paid a visit to Chemawa last Saturday after ten days visit in Portland. Mr. Collins stated that he had four children to send to our school. Last Friday afternoon a game of basebsll was played between Company A and B. Company B team was victor ious, having defeated the opposing team by a score of 12 to 1. The cartoon exhibited at the Nesika Club entertainment last week occasion ed considerable merriment and favorable comment as a meritorious work. Joe Dillstrom was the artist who executed the work. 7 Misses Skipton, Hutchinson r and Kof ster were guests of Prof, and Mrs. J. B. Horner, of Waldo Hall, Oregon Agricultural College, Corvallis, Oregon, while attending the Commencement exercises, and were delightfully enter tained during their stay. Misses Vera and Pearl Horner, Misses Kate Adams and Moore contributed largely to the entertainment of the guests, who thor oughly enjoyed every number of the program and declare the Junior Prom, automobile trip over Corvallis, etc., are, never to be forgotten events. Others present from Chemawa and Salem were Messrs. Ruthyn Turney, Stoudenmeyer, Misses Stage, Bushnell and Keaton. fltbl etics Brewer Hall and Mitchel Hall will strive for honors in a field meet in the near future. The Chemawa baseball team won from the Oregon State Insane Asylum at Salem League grounds on Saturday. The score was 18 to 8. The engineer boys kalsomined Mr. Moran's house Monday. The blacksmith boys are repairing mowing machines this week. -
