A man who can laugh outside when he is crying inside, who can smile when he feels badly, has a great accomplish ment. We all love the one who believes the sun shines when he cannot see it. After a boy has been let off for a week or two to have a good time while others remained at home and kept up the llouble work, he ought to appreciate the privilege and work hard to relieve them when he returns instead of scheming- immediately upon returning, how else he could get off again. This is plain alk, let it soak in. Role of Honor Gradk 1 Lydia Erough, Maggie Curl, Caroline Joseph, Eva Keluche, Frank Ryan, Richard Busby, Oscar Grant. Lawrence Pablo, Thomas Smokoiem and Wm. Mose are doing excellent work in school, this term. The Institute at Los Angeles is an impossibility for the teachers this year as they are busy getting ready for .com mencement. Our boys are learning valuable lessons while working on the railroad. They are making a name for themselves as good, faithful industrious workers. The pupils in grade 1 have been much interested in their cherry lessons, and they now can tell you the names of ilie different varieties, that grow so abund antly in the orchards around Chemawa. If you want to hear ome good, lively, and up to-date music, step in grade 1 while the little folks are singing, "The Sentinel Asleep." Tiny have aroused that old Sentinel, to such an extent, that he will never 1h guilty of going to sleep again while on duty. The Dead Come to Life To be apparently killed by a stroke of lightening and then come back to life after sixteen hours is the remarkable ex perience of Mamie Curl, K-year-oM daughter of William Curl, living on McCloud Kiver, three miles above the United States Fishery at Baird. The return to life did not come about until the coroner and autopsy physician ar rived, the coffin being received at the Curl home an hour later. Redding Semi-Weekly Searchlight. Mammie Curl was a student at Che mawa two years ago.
