OREGON vs CHEMAWA.
Our boys went down to defeat last Fri
day in a fast game of ball played here
with the Oregon University team. Our
left handed batters failed to connect
with Hurd, Oregon's left handed pitcher
who sent sixteen to the bench. Last
year we defeated them on their ground
8 to 0, this year they returned the com
pliment 8 to 2.

, The tiny little boys have a relay team
of their own, and.it is great fun to
watch them during their tryouts and so
forth.
The Blues defeated the Reds in a
game of base ball last Saturday by the
score of 15 to 11, in the Y. M. C. A.
game last Saturday.
There was a game of baseball played
between the fat men and slim men last
Saturday afternoon; the slim men proved
to be too quick for the fat men and de
feated them by the score of 6 to 5. ,
This season the Chemawa baseball
team goes to Gladstone Park to stay for
two weeks. While there we will play
the strong teams of St. Johns, the Brew
ers and the Cubs. They are very strong
teams; they all belong to the Tri-state
league T. J. M.
Robert Brothers, captain of the Union
football team, called the boys together
last week. They went out in their suits
and tried a few trick plays. Robert
says the boys are swifter this spring be
cause they have been training for the
races. W. W.
The game between the University of
Oregon and Chemawa on the home
grounds on Friday morning was a dis
appointment to all of us. We could
have stood a defeat, but a defeat caused
by careless playing on the part of such
a good team as our home team was pret
ty hard for the Chemawa fans to stand.
