Always show respect for the religious
services in chapel by beingl perfectly
quiet and well behaved. Act there just
as you would in a chapel in Salem.
When a boy is promoted in the mid
dle of the term wouldn't you think he
would studv every minute of the time he
is in school in order to catch up with
those who have had months of work
that he has not had? Any body would
tfiink so, but:
Do not chew gum in school. It is a
very bad manner.
Albina Peirce is now Mrs. M'Clane.
She is a former student of Chemawa,
studied nursing here and in A'bany and
was recently married to Mr. JM'UIane of
Albany an engineer there. : :

Mr. Goudge's talk on "the race of life"
Sunday evening was a very good one.
The meeting was opened by singing
the song "At the cross". After the song
was sung the meeting was devoted to a
debate. The question was"Resolved;that
the city association is more beneficial
than',, the student association." The
speakerswere asY 'follows: Affirmative,
Jam8Sloan, -Eugene Williams and
Webster Hudson; Negative, Peter
Seltice, Martin Sampson and Gordon
Hobucket; It was an interesting debate,
for both sides brought up some strong
pointe. While the judges were handing
in there decision. Martin Sampson sang
a bass solo. The judges decided in favor
of the negative. We then sang another
hymn, and adjourned after that.

complete a brick hospital building with
plumbing, steam heat, electric light, water
and sewer connections, in strict accordance
with plans, specifications and instructions to
bidders which may be examined at this Of
