On Saturday, Mr. Teabo accompanied
by Nels Charles and Pedro Chevio went
to Portland to see the Multnomah vs. Al
bany football game, and thus get an in
sight into the new rules.
The fooi-ball game on the Cheniawa
gridiron on Saturday between the Hole-in-the
wall team and the Giants was a
one-sided affair; the Ilole-in-the-wall
having nine touch downs, . while the
Giants failed to cross the goal line dur
ing the game.
Under the management of Mr. Beck
the basket ball team known as the "Yak
imas" are rapidly rounding into form
and as a team work well together. Last
Saturday evening, they scalped the pick
up team by a score of 17 to 9. The line
up of the Yakimas is Wilson, Williams,
Yallup, Sooksoit and Darnell. Pick-up.
McCully, Brothers, Ilolden, Jay me and
Hudson.
While the small boy is busy with his
marbles his large brother is busy with
the pig skin. Cheniawa will have a foot
ball team altho we are light and for the
most part inexperienced, nevertheless
we will do our best. We note that all
the players are bonifida students, not
one hired player to defend our colors.
Our games will be with teams more our
equal or as the saying is 'we will tackle
some one our size.' Among those report
ing for practice are, Wilson, . Watkins,
Mack, Beach, P. Qucachpalma, Broth
ers, Ilolden, II. Queachpalma, Benson,
McCully, Booth and Charles.
News was received here of the mar
riage of Miss May Stannp and Ignace
Peone which took place in Tacoma some
time ago. Their old schoolmates and
friends all join hands in offering their
congratulations. They are now residing
at Tekrv'i, Wash.

New pupils are arriving daily.
Mrs. Chalcraft spent several clays
with friends in Portland.
Irene and Josie Pepne have returned
from their summer vacation and are
looking well. Their friends were all glad
to see them.
Mrs. Franklin P. Olney of Toppenish,
Wash, arrived at the school last Satur
day with her three boys, whom she de
sired to be enrolled as pupils.
Miss Miller gave us a cooking lesson
in school the other day She brought her
little oil stove over, and cooked cream
potatoes, which were cooked very
nicely.
Mr. Westley is making war on gophers
in front of the Hospital and McBride
Hall. Those living in that vicinity
heard a loud report on last Tuesday
night.
The pupils of the Sacred Heart Acad
emy accompanied by several of the Sis
ters visited Cheniawa on Monday after
noon. Our little friend, Claudia Spink
was with them.
. On Tuesday Mr. Chalcraft with the
assistance of the plumber- and engineer
boys set the radiators and turned the
steam on in nearly the entire building
of the middle-sized boys home. Wchavc
been waiting all summer for the necs
sary valves in order to install this steam,
but the shipment having strayed some
where between here and Chicago, only
arrived a day or so ago. As we had
frosty weather, Mr. Chalcraft decided to
put in the steam, even though we had no
head engineer or assistant.
