THE CHEMAWA AMERICAN Eocal and General Married. Mrs. Lillian Cartheiea was married last U'idnesday.to Mr I. Raney of Corder, Mo , and is now happily located in a beautiful home in " Old Missouri." Mr. Raney is n in of Corber's enterprising and wtdl-to-io b' siness men. The Amekican wish, s them a long life of success and happiness. A Leech Lake Indian school correspond ent to the Indian Herald says: "The lake is 3 ill frozen over so that, teams pass over lo Walker. 5,000 lb, of flour was recently brought over for the school house in one luad, Though the air is mild and warm at times the chances are that the lake will be frozen over for two weeks yet." Class of 03 The class of '03 met Wednesday, April 22, for the purpose of transacting business aud make necessary arrangements for t he coming commencement. Miss Wilbur W8!l deserves the honor and credit be 8 owed upon her as class historian. Miss Emily Downie as class grumbler seems well p'eased and will probably display great ability in this Hue. Martin Wollan, whose eloquence won the votes of the girls, who are in majority and consequently rule, was chosen as the one to select the class motto, which is, ' Our yesterdays and to ri iys are the blocks by which we build." Martin was also chosen class orator. Class Colors, crimson and white. Ei G. New hydrants are being put in on the lawn at different points foi sprinkling pur poses. Chemawath s with Eugene in giving them the closest game, losing by four points only, we congratulate our neighbors and promise them a sharper contest next year. After the social last Friday evening Mr. and Mrs. Becker invited several fiiends to their apartments where they bade all "eat, drink and be merry." Drlicious lemonade, cake and many other good things were in abundance. These gener ous hearted peop'e have a well merited reputation in Chemawa for their kind hospitality.
