requesting th a t all m aterial on the in-

one alcove w here it can be easily found
and readily assim ilated by the college
men. He lias received a reply from the
librarian s ta tin g th a t his req u est has
been complied w ith. S tu d e n ts should
make them selves know n to M iss R ock
well at the reference desk. She will
show them every possible courtesy.
In order to keep re su lts in uniform
shape, it has been ruled th a t each can
didate, in p re p a rin g for the try o u t,
use the card index system . I t is not
necessary to buy a filing case, sim ply
cards, four inches by six inches in size
and to keep the re su lts of re ad in g on
them in legible and intelligible form .
Each card should show clearly and
fully the source of the ex cerp t which
it bears. All q u o ta tio n s should be in
dicated, and p a ra p h ra se s or original
matter placed in b rack ets to id en ti
fy it.
In this way, all the m aterial g a th e r
ed for the try o u ts will be available by
use for the team s w hen th ey are se
lected. Indications point to w ard a large
number of men in the try o u t. T he
committee hopes for forty, as ag ain st
