O reg o n is one of the few U niversities in th e W e s t w hich does not follow th is custom . A P A R T IN G H O W L In all the v ario u s ph ases of college a c tiv ity at the U n iv e rsity of O reg o n there is not a stu d e n t official w ho does so much w ork and receives so little credit for his labors as does th e ed ito r of the O regon W eekly. Plis position is the only one d em an d in g a g re a t am ount of w ork w hich lasts d u rin g the en tire year. N ot only d u rin g e ith er the S pring, th e F all, or th e W in te r m ust he devote all his en e rg y to th e cause of the s tu d e n ts b u t ev ery seven days d u rin g the en tire college y ea r he m ust bear the resp o n sib ility of p ro d u c in g all the college new s of th e w eek and e d it ing his paper. N ever is th e re a M on- dey d u rin g sessions in e ith e r sem ester when the ed ito r is not tied dow n to his paper. F o r all his labors th is individual re ceives n eith er college cred it from the faculty nor a salary from the stu d e n ts.
