I have been a foster care provider for a DD client for 15 years. I am aware of the issues that providers face in the care of clients. If elected I will help bring these issues to light. I will do my best to grow in knowledge and abilities by attending trainings, conferences and meetings that will help to enhance my position as one of your delegates. Steven L. Janis Beauchamp Portland, OR Region 21 I'm used to officer needs and want to contribute to the needs. Statement not available. Candidate for PRESIDENT LOCAL 972-Evergreen Cheryl Hudson La Grande, OR Hi. I'm Cheryl Hudson, a CNA working the NOC shift at (Evergreen) La Grande Health and Rehab. I've worked for the corporation for almost eight years, so I was there when we became unionized. I've seen what an immense impact SEIU has made on workers' rights, conditions, and the power we have together. I attended the past two general council assemblies in Eugene and have been a shop steward and Vice-president of my local home. I was on the last contract negotiating committee and have been privileged to attend lobby days and other political activities in Salem. If I'm elected president of SEIU Evergreen, I'll do my best to help the union help you, my fellow nursing home workers. We all strive to treat our residents with the respect and dignity that they deserve. We workers should receive no less from our administrators and coworkers. If I am not elected to this office, I will be happy to work in the position that I have, to help SEIU continue to improve the lot of all service workers and to bring a healthy middle class back to our country. Thank you.
