Adult Foster Home Local 858 Election Candidatels] for President Candidatels] for Vice President Kenneth (Scott) Hollingsworth Kathleen Howard Grants Pass, OR Gold Hill, OR I have been a provider since 1992 and have been at the bargaining table from the beginning. I have learned what is entailed in all of the divisions of adult foster care and understand the issues that each division has. When I consider all of the proposals, I keep this in mind, as to try to make the proposals work best for all of the divisions even drafting a number of proposal myself. I have affected changes directly in DHS policy on my local level and have assisted in the same with the union at the bargaining table. I am a strong leader, business owner, and have exceeded in every job and task that I have ever taken on. I will apply all of this ability as the President of Local 858 and fight for our rights as well as the rights of others. I will represent all of the divisions of foster care with equality and fairness. I would greatly appreciate as well as thank you for your vote for the Presidency of Local 858. For the last four years, I have been a key member of the contract bargaining team for adult foster care providers in Oregon, and have been working hard to ensure our rights do not go ignored. It is for this reason that I have decided to run for Vice-President of SEIU Local 858. From first hand experience, I have come to know what issues and needs are facing today's adult foster care providers, and am committed to the betterment of the lives of residents providers alike. In the process of coordinating CEU classes in Jackson County, I have expanded my knowledge of the AMH and DD areas enough to understand their own specific concerns. It has been my privilege to not only fight for the rights of senior care providers, but also the men and women who care for the developmentally disabled and mental health communities in Oregon. My goal is to ensure that the freedoms of adult foster care providers are protected, and that all Protective Service investigations are transparent, unbiased, and fair. We work hard every day and take our jobs very seriously, and in doing so we deserve the right to defend our residents, our businesses, and our homes. Patricia (Patty) R. Jones Dallas, OR After much deliberation I have decided to seek the Presidency of Local 858. As a second-generation union member, I believe that I bring qualities and experience that will serve us well. I have been a successful provider for 10 years, and have been active in the formation of our local since the beginning. As co-chair of the bargaining unit, I fight for health insurance, wage increases, direct • deposit, provider's rights, and service pay transparency, and will continue to fight for the issues of our members. I have served on both the training and dues committees, fighting for better, more cost efficient training, and an equitable dues structure. If you choose to elect me, I promise to represent the interests of the membership with passion, serve with integrity, and protect the right of each member to express their self at the local meeting. I will perform the duties of the office with care, deliberation, and forethought. Please vote for me and allow me to continue to serve you as President of Local 858. Candidatels) for Recording Secretary Lisa M. Schrader Roseburg, OR I have worked hard for 18 years to build up the Adult Care Providers organization, serving as Secretary for the statewide organization and as President of the Roseburg organization. I have consistently brought CEU opportunities to providers. I want to be Secretary of our new union because we have greater power as a union and I want to see us succeed. Candidatels) for Financial Treasurer Leah Silaev Clackamas, OR I am running for the office of Financial Treasurer. My experiences include running my own home for the last 4 years and a Fiscal Manager for a 42 Bed RTF in Portland for 9 years. My responsibilities included being payee for 39 of the Residents, A/R's, A/P's, reconciling all accounts including checking and savings accounts for the Residents and the RTF. Monthly & Quarterly Reports to Multnomah County for service payments. Assisting County and State agencies in the auditing of the RTF and responsible for the outcomes and policies. Annual end of year Accountants auditing of the RTF and Residents accounts for approxi mately $700,000.00 per year. I pride my self on my accuracy and hold myself to exceedingly high standards. As to why I am asking you to vote for me is I believe in our Union and have been a part of fighting with them including for our first contract. I am vested in continuing to improve our working conditions and to ensure we only move forward not backwards. If I am privileged enough to receive your vote I will do everything I can to earn it.
