WHAT ARE YOUR
QUALIFICATIONS FO R THIS
O FFIC E? I have been active in the
Union as a Homecare Worker, serving on
our leadership council and recently elected
to be a bargaining delegate in our first
contract campaign. I have a positive attitude and a willingness
to learn and serve all Local 503 members in District 2.
UNION EX PERIEN CE NOT ITEM IZED ABOVE: l am
good on phone banks, I ’ve lobbied at the legislature and I am
passionate in my belief that the labor movement is the best way
for workers to advocate for justice and dignity.
I hope to bring more members into leadership roles and enable
members to move their issues forward.
WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS F O R YOUR DISTRICT?
Providing better communication between district officers and
the members and inspiring more members to participate in
district business.
WHAT IS TH E BIGGEST SINGLE ISSUE TH E UNION
W ILL FACE DURING YOUR TERM AND HOW
WOULD YOU PRO PO SE TO RESOLVE IT ? The union
faces major challenges in contract enforcement, bargaining for
living wages and health coverage that is meaningful. All of
this adds up to money. We need to work towards better
funding of public services and higher ed. We need a focused
effort to eliminate the sniping attacks on public employees and
to connect with the communities of this state towards a stable,
meaningful source of revenue.
District 3N District Director
WHY ARE YOU SEEKING THIS O FFIC E AND WHAT
ARE YOUR GOALS FO R SEIU LOCAL 503, OPEU
DURING YOUR TERM ? I am seeking this office to be a
part of a team seeking solutions to the challenges that face us
collectively. I want to continue to develop a “hands on”
knowledge and skills that support the overall mission of our
Union.
WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FO R YOUR D ISTRICT?
I would like to work on health care issues that face our
members who are fortunate to have coverage, but see benefits
and access eroding and to help Homecare Workers get health
care coverage in our first contract. I would like to work on
projects that help the public better understand and recognize the
value of providing good public service.

ARE YOUR GOALS FO R SEIU LOCAL 503, OPEU
DURING YOUR TERM ? I am committed to building a
strong labor movement. Beyond my own local, 1 want all 503
locals to be strong. My goal would be for all 503 locals to
coordinate on health care reform.
WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FO R YOUR DISTRICT?
increased CAPE and District level participation. For the
district to be strong, we must have depth in the organization.
That means Local Government, Home Care, State, Higher Ed
locals etc, all being recruited & represented,
WHAT IS TH E BIGGEST SINGLE ISSUE T H E UNION
W ILL FACE DURING YOUR T E R M AND H O W
W OULD YOU PRO PO SE TO RESOLVE IT ? Without a
doubt - healthcare reform. Workers under the PEBB umbrella
may feel like they are being squeezed hut they haven’t seen the
worst of it! For Local Gov’t, HomeCare, PNP the last several
years have been disasterous in terms of benefit packages.
National & State & local elections are a necessary part of the
solution - we simply have to elect labor friendly candidates
