lection Scheduled
for District Director
JoAnn Bowker
With Steve Green’s election as
OPEU president, his position as
District 2 Director became vacant.
A new director will be elected by the
District 2 Council on October 27. The
meeting will be held at OPEU head
quarters at 7 p.m.
According to District 2 Director
Kelly Clemence-Kathriner (District 2
has three directors), a motion will be
introduced at the Oct. 27 meeting to
adopt the following procedure: electa
new director from the newly-elected
assistant district directors by a
majority of those present at the
meeting.
Assistant district directors are
JoAnn Bowker, Alfred Bushey and
Richard Myers. However, Bushey has
indicated he will not seek the open
seat.
Kathriner said that the council
consists of one representative from
each work area in the district, but that
all OPEU members are encouraged to
come and will be eligible to vote.
Council rules require that five work
areas be represented in order to have
a quorum.
Following the election of a new
district director, nominations will be
opened for assistant district director
and the position vacated by the
newly-elected director will be filled by
a majority vote of those present.
