It is regret- ted I that with respect to the salary study the report, was not released first, pending election on the sales tax ’ and later due to the tragic death of Gov ernor Snell, Secretary of State Farrell and President of the Senate, Marshall —Cornett- The Secretary-Treasurer read hisf re port. Cash on hand as of January 1, 1947, $1,251.83; during' the period January 1 to October 31/ 1947 chap ter 1 dues and f initiation fees received, $-| 0,45 7.41; income from magazine, $1,682.96; miscellaneous income, $18.- 32/ loans from chapters, $1,800.00; making a total income of $15,210.52. Disbursements from January 1 to Oc tober 31, 1947, Salaries, ‘$5^3,50.00; legal, $2,807.02; magazine, $1,871.09; General Council, $45'.30; other travel expense, $756.43; rent, $240.00; mis cellaneous expenses, $2,050.02; mak ing a total of $14,540.93. Cash bal ance on November 1, 1947, $669.59. It was moved and seconded that the re port be accepted and the motion was carried. Mr. Claude M. Johns, Director of Civil Service, was not present to make his report. Mr. I. A. DeFrance, Director of Laws and Legislation Committee, pre sented his report in mimeographed form. Special commendation was- ac corded to Mr. Leo Smith; Légal Coun sel, and Mr. Forrest V. Stewart, Execu tive; Secretary, for their fine work dur ing the last legislative session.
