42 BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING April 20, 1947 The meeting of the Board of D i rectors of the Oregon State Employees Association, at the Marion Hotel, was called to order by President Bjarne Ericksen. Those present were: Erick- sen, Query, White, O’Neil, Johns, De- FranCe, Murphy, Leary, Hall, Cooper, Chidsey and L. A . McCôskfie, of Al bany, representing L. P. Scharffenberg. Absent, Bob Glenn. Also present were: Forrest V. Stewart, Executive Secre tary; F. Leo Smith, Legal Counsel, and Jean Brimacombe, Secretary. Visitors attending were Dave Cameron and Jes sie Singleton. ■ ' ' H The minutes of the previous meeting were ‘approved. Communications were read from Mrs. George Aiken thanking the As sociation for their remembrance to Mr. Aiken during his illness; from Mrs. Mc Kenna expressing her appreciation of the Association’s memory of the late Coe A. McKenna; and from William G. Colman, Director of Civil Service, expressing appreciation and thanks to the O.S.E.A. for constructive criti cisms, assistance and cooperation ex tended the past year. Manzanita Cafe Fine Food Courteous Service Harry and Gladys Melton Manzanita, Oregon Resolutions were read from several chapters: Newport No. 14, Tillamook No. 15, Rose City No. 5, Roseburg No. 2 and Astoria No. 8. The majority of resolutions concerned the problem ôf hourly wages and one resolution ex pressed dissatisfaction w ith the admin istration of the Executive Secretary. Some of the resolutions dealt w ith m at ters of policy and will be referred to the next General Council for action. A report of the Legislative Program was given by I. A. DeFrance.
