28 Pre-General Council Board of Directors Meeting A Board of Directors meeting was held in the Mirror Room of the Mar ion Hotel Saturday, December 2, 1944. President Ford called the meeting to order at 10 a.m., with the following present: Mr. DeFrance, Mr. Chidsey; Mr. Laws, Mr. Dakin and Mr. Boldt. Those absent were Mr. Stiffler, Mr. Cooper, Mr. Edwards and Mr. Clymer. The minutes of the October 29 meet ing having been distributed by mail ■ were approved. A petition for a charter from a group in the State Library building and employed in the Department of Education, Department of Vocational Education, State Library, Parole and Probation Board, and Bureau of Labor was read. The petition was approved and a chapter granted to "Library Building Chapter No. 23.” Council committee appointments for the General Council recommended by President Ford were approved as fol lows: Audit, Mr. Carpenter, Mr. Laws, and Mr. Dakin; Credentials, Mr. Rog ers, Mr. Clymer and Mr. Gemmell; Resolutions, Mr. Stiffler, Mr. Query, Mr. Edwards; Rules, Mr. Cooper, Mr. Rynerson, Mr. Campbell, Mr. Falken hagen and Mr. DeFrance; Ways and Means, Mr. Edwards, Mr. Carpenter, Mr. Baker, Mr. Mann, Mr. Boldt, Mr. Rother, Mr. Bainter; Constitution and By-laws, Mr. Clymer, Mr. Terril, Mr. Laws, Mr. Fossen, Mr. Cozad, Mr. Da kin and Mr. Query; Laws and Legisla tion, Mr. DeFrance, Mr. Rynerson, Mr. Robertson, Mr. Armstrong, Mr. Rogers, Mr. Lyons, Mr. Cooper, Mr. Chidsey, Mr. Gemmell and Mr. Bany; General Welfare, Mr. Stiffler, Mr. French, Mr. Falkenhagen, Mr. Clark, Mr. Anning, Mr. Perkins, Mr. Jones and Mr. Camp bell. G eneral Council Meeting The third regular general council meeting was held in the Mirror Room of the Marion Hotel in Salem on De cember 2-3, 1944. Delegates and visi tors registered in the lobby and at 10:30 a.m. the meeting was called to order by President A. J. Ford. Invoca tion was given by I. A. DeFrance. The report of the Credentials Com mittee was read by Max Rogers arid was adopted. The delegates, officers, directors and visitors were introduced. There were no delegates from Newport or Marsh field chapters. Mr. Chas. L. Wood, al ternate delegate answered the roll call for C. T. Terril who could not attend until afternoon. Mr. Bany, alternate delegate, represented Coquille Chapter. Forrest V. Stewart, Executive Secre tary and Margaret Vroman, Secretary, were present. Visitors included O. G. McComb of La Grande and Frank Hall of Eugene. Ralph H.
