C hinook W inds SILETZ TRIBAL GAMING CONVENTION CENTER Some Facts About Chinook Winds Construction Although Chinook Winds, our 159,000 square foot facility (bigger than two football fields) is an absolutely beautiful facility, people have wondered about it's safety and the quality of it's construction. . We are proud of the fact that Chinook Winds is constructed of materials of the highest quality and furnished with the best, high tech equipment available. The facility is a steel frame structure with metal pan and poured concrete floors. The exterior skin (Dryvit) is of durable, water repellant, fiberglass; and to prevent salt-air damage, we made liberal use of non-corrosive material including stainless steel. The extensive sprinkler system not only protects the occupants but the structure as well. The facility is fully alarmed with early warning devices. The mechanical system is designed to shut down during fire alarm warning system activation. Chinook winds has over 250 strategically located video cameras continuously monitored by s u r v e illa n c e p e r s o n n e l . Unlike facilities that dose for hours at a t i m e , Chinook Winds is open 24 hours, fully staffed with around the clock security personnel covering every section of the building. Our multi-million dollar heating/ air conditioning (HVAC) system is a highly energy effident system. For this reason, Chinook Winds w as eligible for and approved by the Oregon State Energy Department for a low interest loan (though the Tribe dedded not to accept the State's energy loan since it was successful in obtaining a loan at comparable rate from another source) The sophisticated air filtration system exhausts 100% of the air (the same air inside is not recyded); heat recovery is part of the same exhaust system. We are proud of the fact that Chinook winds is not only beautiful, and safe, its construction is of the highest quality.
