Ernestine was bom of Elmer A. 8s Veronica W. Reed on December 25, 1922. She is survived by one daughter, Veronica J. Poersch- Hillsboro, OR; sons Thomas E. Siniscal, Aloha, OR; George F. Siniscal, Portland, OR; Douglas R. Siniscal, Portland, OR; grandsons Eric T. Dixon, Hillsboro, OR; Anthony C. Siniscal, Liverpool, NY; granddaughters Tawnia J. McGurthy, Phoenix, AZ; Tamara L. Siniscal, Sherwood, OR; Charlotte M. Bernard, Portland, OR; Nicole J Bernard, Portland, OR; great- granddaughter Kaylee Marie McGurthy, Phoenix, AZ; great- grandson Nathan Dixon Hillsboro, OR; and sister-in-law Sue Reed, Lincoln City, OR. Patty learned to face life and her illness with courage, faith and humor. She would like to thank all for your concern and help. We, the family would like to specifically thank the Siletz Volunteers, Nate Bynum, Ray Goodell, Steve Rife, Mike Sorenson, Bruce Swlienger, and B.J. Wawrak. They spent over two hours helping Patty in her final hours. We want you to know that we truly appreciate your concern and efforts. There have been many people over the past years that have helped Patty. We can't mention them all but, to Brenda Bremner, Judy Imbler, Bristo Bayya, Pat Downey, and all others who assisted with Patty's porch and also, to all health and social services persons who provided for Patty's needs, we and she thank you. Many of you did not meet Patty before her disease got so bad. She was fun loving, active, and involved. She valued being responsible and hardworking. She loved her nieces and nephews and was very involved in their upbringing. She was intelligent and in any activity she tried she excelled in. This will be a youth dance held at the Portland Impact Center at 4707 SE Hawthorne Blvd. 233/8491, from 6pm to 11pm. This event will be an attempt to create greater Unity between Native and Chicano Communities among the youth and bring their families together to promote peaceful, spiritual, values based upon respect of all life. On September 23, 1995, a Harvest Ceremony was well attended at Dino's and Juanita's to recognize and give thanks for the first day of fall. Our thanks to Loraine, Luhui, Lavanne, Crystal, Pat, and Karin, the special ladies who brought all the wonderful food for a beautiful feast. Thank you to Buzz, Randy, Molo, Sage for the strong beautiful dongs, and also all the hard work you all did in preparation for the sweat. Thanks for your help, Brother Tony and Bobby and especially for all the children's laughter. In November and here after we will be having the monthly gatherings again at the Taft Middle School in Lincoln City from 2:00 pm to 6:30 pm. These days are intended for the whole family and their friends. The intent is to introduce families to other families of different tribes where we can share and learn different cultural tribal ways. Eat! Dance! Drum/Sing, laugh, and just plain have fun together!
