They decided to surrender rath er than k ill o ff all our people in w ar w e w ould lose, in part because the O regon Indian tribes fou gh t am on g them selves and w ou ld n ot band together. Once on the reservation w e w ere told the m ore Indian you were the m ore you got. This w as a lie. B lood degree is the w hite m ans w ay o f crow d control that has gotten w ay ou t o f hand. B y the w hite m ans la w m y brother J e ff w as m y h a lf brother. I nfever k n ew the h a lf that w as n ot mine. W hen he w as killed at Christm as of '89 my brother died, n ot ju s t half. L et u s liv e on as our grandfathers and gran d m others h ad prayed for. L et u s ban d together and fin d the answ ers w e are so desperately seeking. D irect D escendancy could include som eone to insure w e go on fo r another hundred years, or even a thousand. Finally, this year's pow -w ow is here!
