Submitted by Shannon Welch The Contract Health staff would like to thank you for your patience. We realize that the number of questions which we require you to answer each time you call in seems repetitive and unnecessary, especially when you may not be feeling well. .(; T o . make this experience less stressful, here is a list of the questions that we will ask each time you call: 1. Your name. 2. Patients name. 3. What will you be seen for? 4. Who are you going to see? a. Name b. Address c. Phone 5. Do you have a private Insurance or a medical card? 6. Do you have an updated application? NOTE: The Pow-Wow Committee will be selling a meal prior to the General C ouncil m eeting, beginning at approximately 12:00 noon. Funds raised help support the Pow-Wow. . Tribal Member Bill Towner recently | underwent by-pass surgery. What started out to be a routine ballooning operation ended up being emergency by-pass surgery. During the operation, hie heart stopped beating three separate times and had to be brought back by use of electric paddles. Bill spent 23 days in the hospital, 6 of those in intensive care in Portland. He is home now recuperating from his recent operation. Bill noted that he is unable to get up and around to visit ¡ike he used to. He also stated he is bored and would very mbch like to hear from Tribal Members. We'd like to wish Bill a SPEEDY RECOVERY!!! You all may be wondering what happened to the recipe book the Pow Wow Cdmmittee was planning. We were about fifty recipes short. 'fu d g in g from all the good food at the various potlucks, there are some excellent cooks in the Tpfibe. So, everybody, keep those recipes coming! We will get-that book out ye|! AzUle The Salem Area Office, ¡¡JTPA program extends congratulations to Laverne Butler, daughter o f the late Bruce Butler, Sr. and Martha Case, and Donna Holmes, daughter of the late Elmer Logan and Marie Logan, for successfully completing their employment enhancement class. They attended the ODOT Traffic Control Course. Furthermore, they both passed the state certification test on their .first attempt!! For the. next 3 years, they are eligible to bid for lucrative positions with both private and state contractors. A job well done, ladies! Tribal Member and former Miss| Siletz, Kelly Strickler and Michael Ray; Ball, a Klamath Tribal member, w ere( married September 14, 1990 at Stewart Community Baptist church located on the old Stewart Indian Boarding School grounds In Carson Qlty, Nevada. Kelly and Mike reside in Portland, Oregon where Kelly works for the Confederated Tribes of Siletz as ?a Social Service worker and Office'Supervisor and attends Portland State University. Mike works for United Parcel Service and also attends Portland Community College. CONGRATULATIONS!!!
