JOB OPENING Where: Fort Hall, Idaho Title: Tribal Human Services Program Director Employer: Shoshone-Bannock Tribes, Tribal Health & Human Services Program Salary: $30,038.00 per year (120 days probationary period) Closing Date: August 26, 1985 Summary: Under general direction of the Tribal Health and Human Services Administrator, the Tribal Health Board, and the Business Council, participates in the plan ning, development, mobilizaton, and direction of compre hensive community mental health services including Tribal Chemical Dependency Program for members of the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes and other eligible beneficiaries; plans, develops, and participates in culturally relevant psycho-therapuetic services including assessment, counseling research, and training according to the needs of the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes and the mis sion of the Indian Health Service. Qualifications: Minimum qualification is possession of a valid m aster’s degree in Clinical Social Work, or Clinical Psychology of Psychiatric Nursing from an accredited College or University with submission of certified copies of transcripts. Must have a minimum of Five (5) years postgraduate experience including a) the minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience, b) minimum of one (1) year administrative experience, c) minimum of two (2) years direct clinical service work. LOGO CONTEST! Tribe Receives Remainder Of Salmon The Siletz Tribe received the remainder of its summer salmon harvest. 1847 lbs. of salmon were cleaned, cut and wrapped on the site by 17 hard-working people. Special Notice: Those tribal members who did not receive salmon during the first distribution may pick up their salmon on August 12th and 13th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Siletz Tribal Office located in Siletz. If you have any questions^ please call 444-2532 ext. 28, or (toll- free with Oregon 1-800-922-1399). If you or a member of your family is a Siletz Tribal member and is unable to pick up your salmon in person, you or the tribal member may give permission by hand writing a note stating a relative or friend to pick it up for you. The note must have your enroll ment number on it and your personal signature. The Northwest Native American Arts Council (NNAAC) is looking for a logo which will be an identifying symbol for the NNAAC. Anyone who can show tribal affiliation is eligi ble for the competition. There will be a $350.00 cash prize awarded to the person whose logo is chosen. The NNAAC is looking for original designs with “elements typical of Northewest interior and coastal a rt” . The deadline for en tries is August 30, 1985. All entries should be sent to NNAAC, Portland ARt Museum, 1219 Southwest Park Ave., Portland, OR 97205. CRITERIA The logo should feature a fusion of design elements typical of Northwest in terior and coastal art; it should be simple, direct and workable in one color. Half-tones, sm all special divisions and fine lines are to be avoided. It must remain identifiable through blowups, reductions and varying methods of reproduction. The use of the letters NNAAC in the design is not encouraged. ENTRY INSTRUCTIONS Since the contest concerns a graphic design, all entries must be Xerox copies of a finished original and will not be returned unless accompanied by a self- addressed, stamped envelope. Up to four designs may be submitted by one artist. Entries should be Xerox copies of the original on an S V ixllti inch sheet of white paper, one design to a sheet. An entry blank must be attached to the back of each sheet, including a short explanation of the design. All entries must be sent to NNAAC, Portland Art Museum, 1219 Southwest Park Ave., Portland, Oregon, 97205 by August 30,1985. Judging and awarding of the prize will occur in mid-September.
