SILETZ, OREGON, JAN U A R Y, 1985 - Job Openings Position Title: Forest Worker Salary: $5.36 - $6.36 per hour, 40 hours per week Position Title: Crew Foreman/Forest Worker Salary: $6.76 - $7.54 per hour, 40 hours per week Minimum Requirements: Applicants must: Be at least 18 years old; be in good physical condition, be able to ascend and descend steep slopes, be willing to work in heavy brush, inclement weather and smokey conditions and be willing and able to perform strenuous physical labor; and have experi ence in the safe operation of power saws to fell standing trees, to limb and buck downed trees and to slash brush. Duties: This employee will work as part of a 4-6 person crew doing reforestation, site preparation, prescribed burning, precommercial thinning, fire trailing, road clearing. Assignments will include: Planting bare root conifer seedlings with hoedads. Slashing of brush and hardwood trees using power saws. Building of fire trails using hand tools and power saws. Hand ap plication of herbicide using back pack sprayers. Working on prescribed burns on hand ignition, holding and mop-up crews. Pre commercial thinning of conifer and hardwood trees using power saws or hand tools and her bicides. Closing Date: January 15, 1985. Job will start on or about Feburary 11, 1985.
